Account & Data Deletion
Last updated: 15 October 2026
1. Your right to deletion
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 you may ask AgriMarket NG to delete the personal data we hold about you, and to close your account. This page explains how to ask, what happens next, and the limited records we are required to keep.
2. How to request deletion
There is no instant delete button. Deletion is handled as a request, so that we can confirm it is really you and settle anything still in progress before removing anything. You can ask in either of two ways:
- From your account: sign in, open Account settings, and use Delete my account. Your request is recorded straight away, and the same section shows its progress. You can withdraw it there until we start reviewing it.
- By message: email support@agrimarketng.com from the email address registered to your account, with the subject line Account deletion request, and include the email address or phone number on your AgriMarket NG account and anything you would like us to confirm back to you in writing. You can also reach us on +2347014233524, or through our contact page. We record your request in the same way.
3. Confirming it is you
Before we act we confirm that the request comes from the account holder. A request made while signed in to your account, or sent from the registered email address, is normally enough. If we cannot match the request to an account we will ask you for more detail rather than act on it — closing the wrong person’s account is not a mistake that can be undone.
4. What happens to your account and data
First, anything still in progress must be finished: an order, a dispute or refund, a payout to you, an automatic subscription renewal, or a reward redemption. We will tell you what is outstanding.
Then we close your account and remove your personal details from it: your name, email address and photo are replaced, your sign-in details and sessions are deleted so the account can no longer be used, your profile’s contact and location details, social links and seller description are cleared, as are the contact details on your shop, logistics or service-provider profile (each stops being shown), your notifications, notification preferences, saved items, saved searches, follows and browsing history are deleted, and your Business Directory listing is taken down. If your account never took part in anything — no order, payment, post or other record — it can be deleted outright instead.
Posts, reels, comments and reviews you published stay on the platform where other members rely on them, shown under “Deleted member” instead of your name.
5. What we must keep
Some records cannot be deleted on request. Order and transaction records are retained for seven years for financial and legal compliance, as set out in our Privacy Policy. We also keep payments, payouts, refunds, disputes, subscription and invoice records, rewards history, verification and finance records, our security and audit logs, and the record of your deletion request itself — including the names, addresses and contact details those records hold as they were at the time — where we need them to meet a legal obligation, to resolve a dispute, or to prevent fraud. These records are kept for those purposes only and are not used to contact you or to market to you.
6. Messages and notifications
Closing your account ends the emails and any WhatsApp notifications you had chosen to receive. You do not have to delete your account to stop those: you can turn off notification channels, including WhatsApp, at any time in your account notification settings, and WhatsApp messages are only ever sent to members who have switched that channel on.
7. How long it takes
We aim to acknowledge a deletion request within a few working days, and to tell you within 30 days of confirming your identity what we will do: close your account or, if an outstanding order, payment, dispute or renewal has to be settled first, what it is and when we expect to be able to complete your request. We tell you by email when your account has been closed.
8. Contact
Deletion requests and any question about your data go to our Data Protection Officer at support@agrimarketng.com or +2347014233524. Our Privacy Policy sets out the rest of your rights, and our Marketplace Terms cover account closure.
